Round the Island Race 2024

June 11, 2024

UPDATE!

Sadly our class in the Round the Island Race was cancelled due to weather conditions.  But we live to sail another day! Thank you for everyone's support.

The Round the Island Race 2024 is looming on Saturday 15th June!

The fourth largest race in the UK, the Round the Island Race is renowned and loved by both professional and amateur sailors who take part together with a competitive spirit, but more importantly, a camaraderie second-to-none, racing round the Isle-of-Wight.

All fleets follow the same 50 nautical miles course in an anti-clockwise direction from the Royal Yacht Squadron at Cowes, to the Needles, past St Catherine's Point and round Bembridge Ledge buoy, back to the finish line at Cowes.

The Sea Ventures team are excited to announce our participation in the 2024 race in the Excess 11 catamaran - one of the smallest cruising catamarans on the market, ideal for the UK, with the agile, sporty feel of a thoroughbred sailing yacht.  She is built with the high quality you'd expect from Excess accompanied by aesthetics from their top design team.   The team will race in comfort with the spacious interior and layout providing the height of luxury, just as you'd expect from a cruising catamaran of this calibre.

The Crew from Sea Ventures:

Tim Harley, Sam Archer, Andy Thornsby and Charlotte Lawrence will be on board.

You can follow their progress in the race via the Round the Island race 'Live Stage Leaderboard'  plus the team will be posting updates here plotting their progress.

We wish the Sea Ventures team and all the race entrants the very best of luck!
